From languages and literatures to social sciences, students will present their research findings on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Undergraduate Research Day at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Students showcase a broad range of research topics

More than 40 students who spent their summer exploring research topics from economics to biology presented their findings Sept. 26 at Undergraduate Research Day at UW-Whitewater.

The following students have been trained and certified to be University of Wisconsin-Whitewater resident assistants for the 2013-14 academic year.

More than 40 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater students presented at the 27th annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research.

Suzanne Knight, a social work major from Mount Prospect, Ill., has been named Intern of the Month at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Knight works as an administrative intern for the Juvenile Justice and Mental Health Divisions of the Rock County Department of Human Services in Janesville.

Months of research in science laboratories, dance studios, classrooms and libraries will be on display as the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater celebrates spring Undergraduate Research Day. The following students where granted an achievement for participating in undergraduate research at University of Wisconsin - Whitewater:

Kelsey Welke, an international journalism major from Burlington, Wis., has been named University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Intern of the Month for February 2013. Welke worked with Andrejka Photography as an assistant photographer and personal assistant on Mackinac Island over the summer.

Nicole Thalacker, a public relations major from Janesville, Wis., was named Intern of the Month for September at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She interns with the Milwaukee Brewers as a consumer relations assistant.

Katelyn Wurtz, a special education major from Woodstock, Ill., has been named Intern of the Month for November at UW-Whitewater. Wurtz works with SEAL, the Student Entertainment Awareness League, as a management intern.

Each residence hall on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus is welcoming not only new students, but also a new staff of resident assistants to help on-campus residents with everything from homework to social living. “Students selected for the RA position are simply the best of the best. They excel both academically and socially,” said Trelana Daniel, an assistant director of residence life. There are 122 resident assistants, including:
