Charlie Shilhavy, a music major at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, was named the 2024 recipient of the Student Exemplary Service Award from the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) as part of the organization's Student Chapter Awards. He will be honored at the ASTA National Conference on March 20-23 in Louisville, Kentucky.

A total of 12 students at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater are part of the 2023 Homevoming Steering Committee. The group has been integral in the planning of UWW's Homecoming Week, which is scheduled for Oct. 22-28.

A total of 129 students are serving the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater as resident assistants for the 2023-24 academic year.

Three University of Wisconsin-Whitewater students attended the Wisconsin Nonprofit Summit on July 27-28 in Milwaukee.

Alyssa Dobbs (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's cross country and track and field programs earned the Mackin Commitment to Diversity award, which was presented at the university's annual Campus Awards ceremony in May.

SUFAC approves budgets to fund more than 100 activities, programs, and student organizations on campus.

This year's theme is Warhawks Around the World

SUFAC allocates and reviews the segregated university fees for students enrolled at UW-Whitewater. These fees fund a number of activities, programs and student organizations on campus. This academic year, the group allocated more than $450,000 to eligible organizations.

Warhawk Ambassadors are selected students who promote UW-Whitewater through service to the university, to the community, to friends and alumni, and to the state.

Homecoming takes place Oct. 6-12. The steering committee started planning for this year's events in the spring semester, and decided to embrace the superhero theme "Warhawks Assemble!"

Successful peer mentors lead students through "Warhawk Welcome," a weeklong orientation for new students at the start of the academic year.
