The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has named the 2013 Homecoming Steering Committee.

RHA's mission is to bring "leadership and programs to foster community and to provide social, cultural and intellectual development." The board also reviews and enforces housing policies.

The Warhawk Ambassadors are a hand-selected group of ambitious, involved students chosen by the chancellor to host at prestigious events and represent the student body.

The following students have been named Team Transfer Leaders for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Each UW-Whitewater peer mentor is assigned a group of new students to help them get comfortable with campus, participate in activities and build relationships.

For the eighth time since 2001, the American Marketing Association (AMA) took home International Chapter of the Year honors at the annual conference in New Orleans.

About 150 students from the University of Wisconsin System presented undergraduate research at the State Capitol in Madison on April 17. The annual event, known as "Posters in the Rotunda," allows students and their faculty advisers to share their findings on a variety of important topics with legislators, state leaders, alumni, and other supporters.

The Hawk Squad provides orientation programming for new students and their families. Duties include leading tours, holding small group meetings with students during Plan-It Purple (summer orientation and registration program), and participating in family programming and other campus events.

At the NCAA Division III championships, held March 20-23 in Shenandoah, Texas, Spaay, from Neenah, Wis., became the first UW-Whitewater swimmer or diver to win a national title.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team won the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championship held March 22-23 at Kachel Gym in Whitewater, Wis.

UW-Whitewater Warhawks bring home the title for the second consecutive year after defeating Alabama on March 9 in the National Wheelchair Basketball Tournament.

Andrew Hoeft took his job working at a grocery store and turned it into an innovation that could change the industry. That is the opinion of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization (CEO), which awarded Hoeft the first-ever Disruptive Student Innovator of the Year award at its national conference in Chicago.

A program offered to incoming students at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is giving participants a jump-start in campus involvement. U-Lead is a three-day program offering first-year students diversity training, involvement opportunities and a chance to find a group of friends before the academic year begins. From spirit competitions to the parade, this year’s homecoming events at UW-Whitewater will focus on literacy among American children. “Story Time with Willie” Homecoming runs Oct. 10 – 20, and will shower campus in children’s literature, from classic tales to modern favorites. With only a few weeks to go, the student-led Homecoming Steering Committee is busy organizing and planning. “These volunteers commit to extensive training and to creating a homecoming experience that is unforgettable,” said Kimberly Clarksen, leadership adviser. “Their goal is to create memories for all students that will connect them to UW-Whitewater for years beyond graduation.” Local students on the committee include:

Seven UW-Whitewater students have been elected to the executive board of the 2012-13 Residence Hall Association, which oversees 13 residence halls on campus and two apartment buildings that house students. “The seven students that have been elected to these positions are really the cream of the crop,” said Terry Tumbarello, associate director of residence life. “UW-Whitewater has more than 4,300 students living on campus.
