Dylon George performing in the Warhawk Marching Band
2018 Nov 1
Dylon George from Poynette, WI, who is studying Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, is a member of the 2018 Warhawk Marching Band.
Nicknamed "Wisconsin's Finest," the marching band is well known throughout the state and nation. Last year, the band performed at Lambeau Field during the Green Bay Packers' home opener in front of a crowd of 80,000 people.
"The 2018 Warhawk Marching Band members are a phenomenal group of people who have worked incredibly hard to entertain our audiences and represent UW-Whitewater. It is truly an honor to witness their talent, passion and dedication. They inspire me," said Director of Bands Glenn Hayes.
In honor of the UW-Whitewater's 150th anniversary, the Warhawk Marching Band has taken the university's "Inspire. Engage. Transform." theme to heart and to the field. The band will perform at the next home football game at Perkins Stadium at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.
The group's leadership also includes Tobie Wilkinson, assistant director, and drum majors Ryan Schultz, Jesse Clark III, and Cameron Vinson. The Warhawk Battery and Front Ensemble are the first university marching percussion section in Wisconsin to be endorsed by Yamaha.
