Whitewater's Trewyn Part of WIAC Tournament Title, NCAA Bid for UW-Whitewater Women's Basketball

Brooke Trewyn, a native of Whitewater, WI, and graduate of Whitewater High School, is a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team, which claimed its second consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship on Saturday and will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Division III Championship this Friday and Saturday at Kachel Gymnasium in Whitewater, Wis.

Trewyn, a senior at UW-Whitewater, is majoring in physical education.

The Warhawks, who swept the WIAC regular season and tournament championships for the first time in school history, will host UW-Superior Friday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The winner of that contest will face the winner of the Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.)/Rose-Hulman (Ind.) game on Saturday at 7 p.m.

UW-Whitewater (24-3) defeated UW-Oshkosh 68-65 Saturday at Kachel Gymnasium to clinch the WIAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. The program is making its 17th appearance in the national tournament.
