Whitewater's Trewyn Named All-Region for UW-Whitewater Women's Hoops

2018 Mar 13

Brooke Trewyn, a native of Whitewater, WI, graduate of Whitewater High School, and senior guard on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team, was named third team All-Central Region by D3hoops.com following her performance during the 2017-18 season.

A two-time first team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honoree, Trewyn helped lead the Warhawks to a sweep of the WIAC regular season and tournament championships for the first time in program history. UW-Whitewater reached the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship, hosting the first and second rounds for the first time since 2013.

Trewyn led the team and ranked fifth in the conference in scoring at 13.4 points per game. She led the league in steals (70) and free throws made (107) and finished fourth in free-throw percentage (81.7), sixth in assists (74 / 2.55 apg), seventh in blocked shots (24), ninth in rebounding (6.2 rpg) and tied for 12th in 3-pointers made (29).

Trewyn was twice named WIAC Player of the Week during the season. She garnered a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for Feb. 5-11 after averaging 25 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.5 steals per game on 52.2 percent shooting and a perfect 23-of-23 performance from the free-throw line in two games.

As part of that week, Trewyn poured in a career-high 31 points in the Warhawks' 83-72 win over UW-River Falls, a victory that clinched the team's conference regular season title.

Trewyn finished her career with 1,300 points, good for third in program history. She also ranks among the top 10 all time in double-doubles (15, 3rd), free throws made (325, 6th), rebounds (660, 7th) and field goals made (434, T-7th).
