2017 Mar 14

Brooke Trewyn, a graduate of Whitewater High School and member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team, has garnered third team D3hoops.com All-Central Region accolades following her standout performance during the 2016-17 season.

Trewyn, a three-year starter at guard, helped lead the Warhawks to the program's first-ever Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament title and the team's ninth appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship in the last 10 years and 16th overall.

A first team All-WIAC honoree and two-time WIAC Player of the Week, Trewyn led the conference with 15.2 points per game and ranked among the league's top five in rebounding (7.0 per game), assists (68 / 2.52 per game) and steals (49 / 1.81 per game). She also shot 78 percent at the free-throw line and finished 10th in the WIAC in both 3-pointers made (35 / 1.30 per game) and blocked shots (17).

Trewyn collected All-Tournament Team honors at UW-La Crosse's Holiday Inn Express Classic on Nov. 26-27 after posting career high point totals on consecutive nights. She finished the season with seven double-doubles, including an impressive 20-point, 10-rebound performance in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Hope (Mich.).

Trewyn currently ranks 19th in program history in career scoring (912) and 21st in rebounds (481). She is also tied for ninth with nine career double-doubles.

Trewyn is majoring in physical education at UW-Whitewater.
