2015 Nov 17

Brett Harms, a native of Whitewater and member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's cross country program, was one of seven individuals from the Midwest Region to qualify for the 2015 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship, which takes place Saturday at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis.

Harms earned his spot after picking up all-region accolades over the weekend with a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Region Championship. He posted a personal-best time of 24:39.4 in the 8-kilometer race.

In two other races on the same course this season, Harms posted marks of 25:09.5 at the AAE Invitational and 25:43.39 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship. He garnered second team All-WIAC honors.

Harms has won two events in 2015, crossing the finish line first at both the Cowbell Invitational on Oct. 10 and the season-opening Tom Hoffman Invitational on Sept. 19. He also owns two other top 10 finishes for the season.
