Both programs were also named All-Academic Teams by the ITA.

Seniors Ashley Miller (Racine, Wis./Union Grove), Emily Sodemann (Janesville, Wis./Parker), junior Megan Humphreys (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) and sophomore Brittany Goebel (McHenry, Ill./West) of the women's team were honored by the ITA. Miller finishes her career as a four-time selection, while Sodemann concludes her run as a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete.

Senior Michael Schnarr (Madison, Wis./Memorial), sophomore Zane Navratil (Racine, Wis./The Prairie School), freshmen Rory Calabria (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove), Brandon Dechter (Mundelein, Ill./Carmel Catholic) and Jimmy Engelhart (Brookfield, Wis./East) were recognized on the men's side. Navartil is now a two-time honoree.

To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, student-athletes must have been a varsity letter winner, maintained a grade point average of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year and been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or above, including all varsity letter winners.

The women finished the 2015-16 season ranked 21st in NCAA Division III by the ITA after reaching the third round of the NCAA Team Tournament for the fourth time in the last five years. The Warhawks won their ninth consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship and tied a school record for dual match wins in a season with a 24-6 record, including a 6-0 mark in WIAC play.

The men finished the campaign in the third round of the NCAA Team Tournament for the second time in school history and tallied a 23-7 dual match record. UW-Whitewater was ranked No. 17 in the final ITA national poll.
