Thomas Haasl presents at Posters in the Rotunda event

2014 Mar 20

Thomas Haasl, a senior psychology major from Plymouth, Wis., presented research at the 11th annual Posters in the Rotunda event on Wednesday, March 12, at the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison.

Nearly 200 outstanding undergraduate student researchers from across the UW System, five hailing from UW-Whitewater, filled the Capitol Rotunda to share their research findings.

"Conducting the research continues to be a rewarding experience," Haasl said. "With the support of my mentor Dr. David Havas, I've enjoyed having the chance to see this research grow from the early stages of experiment design to presenting the findings at conferences. I'm looking forward to conducting more research like this in the near future."

UW-Whitewater student representatives presented their research to state legislators, state leaders, UW alumni and others in private meetings.

Catherine Chan, director of the undergraduate research program, said that students present their research with the excitement to discover and communicate the importance of experimental learning.

"Through these students and their accomplishments, our legislators and the public have the opportunity to better understand the state of higher education within UW-Whitewater and the UW System," Chan said.
