Tessa Snell makes UW-Whitewater 2013 volleyball team
2013 Oct 4
Tessa Snell, a sophomore history major from Edgerton, Wis., has made the 2013 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team.
The Warhawks are currently ranked 17th in the nation with a record of 16-5.
"We lost a good amount of starters from last year, but the incoming freshmen have stepped up tremendously," said Stacy Boudreau, head coach. "From performing team bonding exercises to gaining a general understanding of campus, the team is doing whatever they can to help the freshmen become adjusted and comfortable to UW-Whitewater."
When the players are not on the field, they are giving back to the community. By participating in Reading with the Warhawks -- a program where athletes read to elementary school children - along with Make A Difference Day and other campus activities, the players are always looking for ways to help UW-Whitewater and the community shine a little brighter.
The volleyball team is also hosting the Pack It Purple game on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Kris Russell Area, where the locker room will be dedicated to former Warhawk volleyball player Lisa Panici, who passed away last year after being diagnosed with brain cancer.
