Stephanie Stair, UW-Whitewater golfers take fourth in WIAC

2014 Oct 29

The UW-Whitewater golf team finished out its season in the WIAC championship tournament from Oct. 3-5 in Nekoosa, Wis.

Stephanie Stair, a sophomore social work major from Milton, Wis., was part of this year's roster and helped the Warhawks secure a fourth-place finish in the conference.

"I am very pleased with our progress as a team this fall," said Brett Weber, the team's head coach. "We placed in the top four of the conference championship for the 10th consecutive year, so we have had good consistency within our program."

When the players are not on the field, they are giving back to the community. The team participates in Reading with the Warhawks, a program where athletes read to elementary school children. Several of the players are also involved in the UW-Whitewater chapter of Circle K, the world's largest collegiate service organization.

"I look forward to the continued development of our players, especially for our freshmen and sophomores who are still adjusting to the experience of being a student-athlete at the Division-III level," Weber said.
