St. Charles Native Shah Part of WIAC Baseball Championship at UW-Whitewater

Ankur Shah, a native of St. Charles, IL, is a member of the 2015 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team that claimed the program's third consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship.

The Warhawks finished the WIAC season with an 18-6 league record to finish one game ahead of second-place UW-La Crosse.

After finishing as runner-up at the WIAC Tournament last week, the Warhawks (33-9 overall) earned their eighth straight bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, which begins Wednesday against Ripon at 1:15 p.m. at Copeland Park in La Crosse, Wis. UW-Whitewater is the No. 1 seed in the eight-team Midwest Regional.

The winner of this weekend's double-elimination regional tournament advances to the NCAA Championship tournament on May 22-26 at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis.

Shah is majoring in Biology at UW-Whitewater.
