Shelby Fosco serves on 2015 Homecoming Steering Committee

2016 Feb 10

Shelby Fosco, a junior communication major from Dundee, Ill., served on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 2015 Homecoming Steering Committee.

The committee is composed of students who are selected through an application and interview process. Members commit anywhere from two to 20 hours a week beginning in February and continuing until November.

Tasks vary, but all are geared towards the following duties: conducting research, receiving input and selecting the theme for homecoming, creating and planning events, staffing events and evaluating them afterward, serving as judges and welcoming guests.

"Serving on the committee is an opportunity to deeply engage in the event planning and implementation process," said Assistant Director of Career and Leadership Development Kim Clarksen. "Students learn a lot about what they can do, and often push themselves beyond what they once thought possible."

The Homecoming Steering Committee is currently seeking applications for the 2016 committee. For the application, visit: https://orgsync.com/112488/forms/174401.

Applications must be completed by noon Wednesday, Feb. 10.
