Samantha Zaddack appears in "Clybourne Park" at UW-Whitewater

2014 Nov 19

"Clybourne Park," a Pulitzer Prize-winning play that shows how the effects of race and real estate can impact a community, comes to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Samantha Zaddack, a senior theatre major from Shawano, Wis., appears as Betsy and Lindsey.

"Clybourne Park" takes place in Chicago, with act one occurring in 1959 and act two in 2009. Between those years, racial conflicts take place between the community members and homeowners that result in comedic situations.

"Students should expect to be both amused and shocked by this production," said Jim Butchart, director and professor of theatre and dance. "With such a diverse production, constructive conversations about race will continue on this campus while providing entertainment at the same time."

The production opens Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. at Barnett Theatre in the Greenhill Center of the Arts, and runs until Saturday, Dec. 6.
