Richland Center's Magee Named Academic All-America by CoSIDA

Cameron Magee, a native of Richland Center, Wis., graduate of Ithaca School and junior on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's track and field team, was selected third team Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Division III Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Magee carries a cumulative grade point average of 3.74 on a 4.0 scale and is majoring in secondary mathematics education. He became eligible for Academic All-America after being named first team Academic All-District by CoSIDA in May. To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must carry a cumulative 3.30 GPA or above and be a significant contributor athletically.

Magee is a four-time national qualifier in the high jump, most recently placing 18th in the event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in May. He garnered All-America accolades with an eighth-place finish at the 2016 outdoor meet, where he helped the Warhawks place fifth.

Magee is a six-time placer at Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship events in the high jump, posting All-WIAC results four times. He is also a four-time United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Midwest Region honoree.

A 2016-17 UW-Whitewater Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete, Magee is a two-time member of the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. He served as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative.
