Rebecca Murray makes UW-Whitewater 2013-14 women's wheelchair basketball team

Rebecca Murray, a senior special education major from Germantown, Wis., has made the 2013-14 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's wheelchair basketball team.

The Warhawks enter this season as back-to-back defending national champions.

"The players are challenging themselves more than ever," said Dan Price, head coach. "They hold themselves accountable for every action, on and off the court, while benefiting from the experience at the same time."

Returning veterans are making it a point to help freshmen understand the plays and terminology of the game, showing their own leadership skills while creating new leaders in the process, Price said.

The Warhawks kick off the season at the American Collegiate Society for Adapted Athletics Tournament from Nov. 22-23 at Kachel Fieldhouse.
