Pleasant Prairie Native Humphreys Earns All-America Accolades at UW-Whitewater

John Humphreys, a Pleasant Prairie, WI, native and senior on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team, won the doubles championship at the United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Region Championships at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn.
Jake Humphreys (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) and Michael Treis (Brookfield, Wis./Central), who entered the weekend as the top seed in the draw, won their semifinal match and claimed the title on a third-set super tiebreaker. By winning the championship, Humphreys and Treis earn All-America accolades and will compete in the USTA/ITA Small College National Championships on Oct. 15-18 in Sumter, S.C.
Humphreys is majoring in finance.
Humphreys has now earned five All-America honors, including two in doubles. Treis is a first time All-American.
Humphreys also qualified for the singles semifinals, falling in three sets against No. 4 seed Brady Anderson of Coe (Iowa).
