Oak Creek's Reid Selected NSCAA All-American for UW-Whitewater Women's Soccer

2016 Dec 2

Brianna Reid, a native of Oak Creek, WI, and senior on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team, was named 2016 All-Americans by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Brianna Reid (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek), a forward, was selected to the first team, while Carina Krausert (Delafield, Wis./Waukesha Catholic Memorial), a defender, garnered third team accolades.

Reid, who earned third team honors last season, is the program's first-ever first team All-American. Krausert is now both an academic and athletic All-American after being named a third team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America in November.

The Warhawks have now garnered six NSCAA All-America accolades since the start of the 2011 season.

Both Reid and Krausert helped UW-Whitewater finish with a school-record 22 wins and claim the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships. The team also qualified the NCAA Division III Tournament for the sixth consecutive season, reaching for the third round for the third time in school history.

Reid, who was also named a second team All-American by D3soccer.com in 2015, concluded her career as the program's all time leader in both points (140) and goals (61). A three-time WIAC Offensive Player of the Year, four-year all-region and four-year first team All-WIAC honoree, Reid led the conference with 34 points and 14 goals, including six game-winners, in 2016. She also ranked among the league's top five with six assists.

After beginning her career in the attacking third, Krausert shifted to defense prior to the 2015 season. She finished her career as a two-time all-region and two-time first team All-WIAC selection with 11 goals and 15 assists for 37 career points. Krausert started all 24 games in 2016 and tallied one goal and two assists for four points.
