Mukwonago's Green Qualifies for NCAA Championships for UW-Whitewater Track and Field

Matt Green, a native of Mukwonago, WI, and graduate of Mukwonago High School, is one of 10 members of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater track and field program who will compete at the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships this Friday and Saturday at Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.

The Warhawk men qualified for the national meet in six events, while the women gained accepted entry into four different events.

Sophomore Alex Duff (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) earned a spot in two events to lead the men. Duff ranks second in the heptathlon with a school-record score of 5109 (5133 after conversion for track size) and is fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.10 seconds.

Sophomore Christian Jackson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) qualified in the 60-meter hurdles for the second straight season, earning a mark of 8.15 over the weekend, good for 11th overall.

Sophomore Zach Jasinski (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) earned his second trip to the indoor national meet with his school-record height of 16-09.50 (5.12 meters) in the pole vault. He ranks third in the event entering the weekend.

Senior captain Matt Green (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) will compete at the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career, entering the meet with the sixth-best mark in the triple jump, a 48-06.00 (14.78 meters).

Senior captain Parker Witt (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North) rounds out UW-Whitewater's qualifiers with a time of 6.85 in the 60-meter dash. A two-time All-American in the event, Witt holds the sixth-best result among scheduled participants.

On the women's side, senior Enyo Amet (Racine, Wis./Prairie) and sophomore Abbie Felton (Burlington, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) will each compete in a pair of events.

Amet qualified for the high jump for the first time in her career over the weekend with her personal record 5-06.00 (1.68 meters), good for 10th entering the weekend. Felton earned a spot in the 400-meter dash with her career best mark of 56.12 seconds, good for fourth overall.

Amet and Felton will join sophomores Ashley Tijerina (West Chicago, Ill./West Chicago) and Megan Hering(Black Earth, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) in the 4x400-meter relay. The group enters with the sixth-best result, a 3:53.83 (3:50.77 after conversion for track size).

Senior Lindsay Chase (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) will make her first trip to the national meet in the weight throw with her personal record mark of 57-02.00 (17.42 meters).

Competition is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. each day.
