Mitchell Schauer a finalist in UW-Whitewater Elevator Pitch Competition
2017 Nov 2
Mitchell Schauer from Tomahawk, Wis., who is studying entrepreneurship at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, was a finalist in the school's annual Elevator Pitch Competition on Oct. 11.
Modeled after the show "Shark Tank," student entrepreneurs have one minute to pitch their business idea to a panel of judges, most of them seasoned entrepreneurs.
"Here students are able to connect with judges, raise money and learn the curve of entrepreneurship," said Casey Seidl, competition officer of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization, which runs the event. Students were able to win up to $500 in prizes.
Schauer pitched Curler Caddy, a curling iron and straightener holder, made from stainless-steel, and with an adjustable arm.
CEO will next host its annual Warhawk Business Plan Competition this spring with $5,000 in prizes up for grabs.
