Milwaukee's Jones Tabbed D3hoops.com All-Region at UW-Whitewater

Chris Jones, a native of Milwaukee, WI, graduate of Bradley Technology and Trade School and junior guard on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team, was named second team D3hoops.com All-Central Region based on his performance during the 2016-17 season.

Jones, in his first season at UW-Whitewater after transferring from Iowa Lakes Community College, helped lead the Warhawks to the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship during the program's 21st appearance in the national tournament, including the ninth in the last 12 seasons.

A first team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection, Jones led the league in scoring at 17.9 points per game and shot 49.3 percent from 3-point range, good for second in the conference, and 48.4 percent from the floor, good for 12th. He also ranked fourth in the WIAC with 88 assists (3.38 per game) and finished third in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.87-to-1.

Jones garnered WIAC Player of the Week accolades three times during the season and scored 20 or more points in 13 different games, including a 22-point performance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against eventual national semifinalist Augustana (Ill.).

Jones is majoring in liberal studies at UW-Whitewater.
