Milwaukee's Jones Tabbed All-America by D3baseball.com at UW-Whitewater

Austin Jones, a native of Milwaukee, WI, and graduate of Wauwatosa West High School, has been selected as D3baseball.com All-Americans after his standout performance during the 2017 season.

Junior Heath Renz (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) was tabbed first team, while junior Austin Jones (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) earned honorable mention recognition.

The right-handers helped lead the Warhawks to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, the program's 21st appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship and a record of 36-9, including a 17-3 mark in conference play during the regular season.

Renz, the 2017 WIAC Pitcher of the Year, D3baseball.com Midwest Region Pitcher of the Year and American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Midwest Region Pitcher of the Year, led the conference and ranked 13th in NCAA Division III with nine wins during the season. He finished third in the league in earned run average (1.96) and fourth in opposing batting average (.215), innings pitched (69) and strikeouts (55).

Renz also garnered first team All-WIAC and D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings All-Midwest Region accolades.

Jones finished the season with an 8-3 record and placed second in the conference in ERA (1.91), opposing batting average (.202), innings pitched (85) and strikeouts (83). He earned first team All-WIAC, first team D3baseball.com and first team ABCA/Rawlings All-Midwest Region honors.

Both Jones and Renz ranked among the top 30 in the nation in Walks Plus Hits Per Inning Pitched (WHIP), each posting a WHIP of less than 1.00.
