Melissa Miller performs in DanceScapes '17

2017 Apr 18

Melissa Miller from Lake Zurich, Ill., who is studying marketing, performed in DanceScapes '17 at the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater.

This annual event showcases choreography created by faculty, students and guest artists, and each piece features a different style and message. This year's DanceScapes event took place March 30-April 1, 2017.

To join DanceScapes, students apply at the beginning of the fall semester. Two dance faculty, a guest adjudicator, and a student adjudicator give feedback to the choreographers and then the panel decides which dances will be fully produced in DanceScapes in the spring semester.

"Dancing and choreographing in DanceScapes teaches students how to apply many skills practiced in technique, improvisation, and composition classes in the Dance minor," said Amy Slater, artistic director for the production. "Students are able to see their work fully produced with costume and lighting designs by faculty and student designers."
