Lucas Tomachek appointed to Whitewater Student Government Executive Board
2014 Jun 9
Lucas Tomachek from Racine, Wis., is helping to govern about 12,000 students who attend the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Tomachek, a junior finance major, was appointed to the 2014-2015 Whitewater Student Government (WSG) Executive Board as the vice president.
"WSG positions foster skills in problem solving, critical thinking and civic engagement," said Jan Bilgen, adviser. "WSG members have a passion for creating and protecting a campus learning environment that fosters the success of their fellow students."
WSG assesses and serves the needs of UW-Whitewater students by providing an open forum atmosphere as well as being a bridge between students and campus administration.
"Student involvement within the various roles of WSG is a tangible demonstration of their dedication to campus," Bilgen said. "WSG membership provides a path for many to learn about complex systems and issues, along with supporting the vision of accessible education in the state."
