Laura Vacek makes UW-Whitewater 2015-16 women's wheelchair basketball team

Laura Vacek, a freshman undeclared major from Waterford, Wis., has made the 2015-16 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's wheelchair basketball team.

The Warhawks are a young team this year, but returning players are working to build a sense of family and trust among teammates, and to help each other grow as student-athletes. Players have said that participating on this team teaches them key essentials in time management, goal setting, skill development and leadership.

The three-time national champion Warhawks will host a tournament Nov. 20-21 at UW-Whitewater's Kachel Fieldhouse.
