2018 Mar 13

Kimberly Wethal from Evansville, Wis., who is studying journalism and communication at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, was selected to serve on the campus' Segregated University Fee Allocation Committee.

"Students work on a team of nine people all tasked with decided how to allocate funds to student groups. This allows them to enhance their critical thinking and decision-making abilities. They also learn about budgeting and policies," said Kane Poad, chair of SUFAC. "Students have a direct hand in distributing more than $1.4 million."

Students on the committee are selected from different areas of the university including appointments from each college, Residence Hall Association, and Whitewater Student Government. SUFAC approves budgets to fund more than 80 activities, programs, and student organizations on campus.
