Kelsey Welke Named February Intern of the Month

Kelsey Welke, an international journalism major from Burlington, Wis., has been named University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Intern of the Month for February 2013. Welke worked with Andrejka Photography as an assistant photographer and personal assistant on Mackinac Island over the summer.

"Welke was an incredible intern," said Laura Jacobs, career consultant for Career and Leadership Development. "She demonstrated a variety of strengths over the period of her internship, including an ability to relate to a variety of people, strong organizational skills and an ability to take initiative."

As an assistant photographer and personal assistant, Welke took wedding pictures, planned Andrejka's weekly schedule, and coordinated activities at the weddings.

"This internship was an absolutely amazing opportunity and I learned more than I ever thought I could," said Welke. "Andrejka was a great teacher and was very patient with me when I wasn't sure what to do or how to capture an image, so I'm very grateful."
