Jefferson's Renz Named All-American by ABCA for UW-Whitewater Baseball

Heath Renz, a native of Jefferson, WI, graduate of Jefferson High School and member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team, was selected as a third team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association in partnership with Rawlings.

Renz, a right-handed pitcher, finished the 2017 season with a 9-0 record and a 1.96 earned run average in 69 innings, which spanned over 12 appearances. He allowed opponents to hit only .215 and tallied 55 strikeouts during the campaign.

Renz collected first team All-WIAC and All-Midwest Region accolades, and was tabbed first team All-America earlier this week by D3baseball.com. He garnered WIAC Pitcher of the Year and Midwest Region Pitcher of the Year honors from both D3baseball.com and the ABCA.

The Warhawks finished with a 36-9 record, including a 17-3 mark in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The team swept the WIAC regular season and tournament championships and reached the NCAA Division III Tournament for the 21st time in program history.
