Han-Wen Tang awarded graduate research grant

2015 Feb 9

Han-Wen Tang, a graduate counseling major from Taichung City, Taiwan, is the winner of a graduate research grant from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater School of Graduate Studies.

The grants support students carrying out applied research in the field of professional education. A full proposal stating the significance and contribution to the intended field of study is required to be considered for the funding.

Tang will examine career development interventions for international students which will focus on factors that affect career development, challenges and concerns while studying aboard.

"The reviewers have been impressed with these carefully designed research proposals and look forward to hearing about the results," said Seth Meisel, the school's associate dean. "UW-Whitewater is known to have great graduate programs for education and professional studies."

The projects will directly benefit nine school districts and investigate a number of issues relating to the concerns of counselors and business professionals

"Our graduates are overwhelming professionals who work in Wisconsin," Meisel said. "We are happy to provide these research grant funds that allow our students to conduct research that directly addresses the concerns of Wisconsin schools and businesses and prepare students for their future careers."
