2017 May 15

Frederick Steele from Fort Atkinson, Wis., who is studying art, has received a scholarship from the College of Arts and Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Steele was awarded the Raymond E. Light Memorial Scholarship and the The Mark Palmer Gray, Jr. Endowed Art Scholarship.

"Considering the number of truly fine students across the disciplines of Arts and Communication, it is an honor to be designated as a scholarship recipient," said Robert Mertens, interim dean of the college. "The pursuit of artistic or scholarly excellence, coupled with a consistently high level of academic performance, has been recognized by the faculty and staff as truly deserving of this award. Let this award be a reminder of your accomplishments and of the college's generous donors who support scholarships that they may change the lives they touch."
