Erin Everett appointed to 2015-16 College of Letters and Sciences Dean's Advisory Council

2015 Nov 6

Erin Everett, a senior history and geography major from Mukwonago, Wis. has been appointed to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater College of Letters and Sciences Dean's Advisory Council.

"The students are selected by the department chairs from their respective majors. They are identified based on their academic performance, strong communication skills and willingness to serve as a representative for their departments," said David Travis, dean of the college.

The students on the advisory council are then responsible for communicating student ideas and concerns directly to the dean in order to improve the student experience within the college and throughout campus.

"The primary duty of the students is to provide me feedback on issues that I feel need a strong student voice. This is one of the few opportunities that I have as dean to directly interact with students, and their opinions and ideas are very important to me. A secondary duty is to serve on other committees in the college as student representatives (curriculum, planning and budget, etc.)," said Travis.
