Erin Dreger named UW-Whitewater resident assistant

2013 Sep 27

Erin Dreger, a junior public relations major from Kenosha, Wis., has been named a resident assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for the 2013-14 academic year.

The purpose of the UW-Whitewater resident assistants is to generate a community in the residence halls, help new students adjust to campus and create a sense of unity among all residents.

"They are the face of residence life on campus," said Trelana Daniel, assistant director of staff and academic development in the Residence Life office. "With their roles in setting up engaging events in their respective halls, along with being overall social with the residents, RAs have the best chance to leave a positive impact on new and returning students."

To hold the position, applicants must have a strong academic record and complete several interviews with their peers and faculty members. Although the process seems difficult, the premier leadership experience available is priceless.

"This year, we have the largest RA team with approximately 130 assistants," said Daniel. "They have the most talent I've ever seen on this staff, and are truly working to serve the students on campus."
