Emma McMiller makes UW-Whitewater 2014-15 Chamber Orchestra

2015 Feb 23

Emma McMiller, a sophomore music major from Hartland, Wis., has been selected as a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 2014-15 Chamber Orchestra.

The UW-Whitewater Chamber Orchestra is a string ensemble designed for - but not exclusive to - music majors. They have the opportunity to showcase individual talents, while still performing collectively in a professional orchestra environment.

"Since we have a smaller group, there is more responsibility and freedom for the students," said Chris Ramaekers, conductor of the ensemble. "Students are learning about self-management and how to work with limited personnel, which in turn creates a more meaningful educational experience."

Members of the ensemble may come from various majors and are required to audition to be accepted by the group.

The ensemble will be performing on Sunday, March 8, at 3 p.m. at the Light Recital Hall in the Greenhill Center of the Arts. The concert is free and open to the public.
