Dominic Gischia makes UW-Whitewater 2013-14 Whitewater Symphony Orchestra
2013 Nov 8
Dominic Gischia, a senior music major from Kohler, Wis., has been selected as a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 2013-14 Symphony Orchestra.
The Whitewater Symphony Orchestra is one of the largest ensembles on campus. It features students of all majors who undergo a two-day audition process at the beginning of the fall semester.
"Students are encouraged to become involved in this high-quality ensemble," said Chris Ramaekers, conductor. "It is a large enough ensemble that it is driven by experienced musicians, but at the same time possesses enough room for any student interested in auditioning, making for a diverse, exciting student music experience."
Besides their tour schedule, the Whitewater Symphony Orchestra will be playing at the annual Holiday Gala, hosted by the UW-Whitewater Music Department, on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
"I'm really excited about this year," Ramaekers said. "After our recent concerts and practices, I have high hopes and expectations for what this ensemble is going to accomplish throughout the year."
