Delafield's Krausert of UW-Whitewater Tabbed TOPSoccer Volunteer of the Year

Carina Krausert, a native of Delafield, WI, and senior on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team, has been named 2016 Wisconsin TOPSoccer Volunteer of the Year by the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association.

Krausert, a graduate of Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School, was honored for her involvement with TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer), a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities. The goal of the program is to enable the thousands of young athletes with mental and/or physical disabilities to become valued and successful members of the U.S. Youth Soccer family.

Krausert will be recognized for the honor at Winter Fest on Feb. 25, 2017.

An active volunteer on and off campus, Krausert is currently the secretary for UW-Whitewater's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a Veteran Warhawk, a member of Captain's Council, the Warhawk Outreach Coordinator and an Alumni/Employer Relations Ambassador

Krausert is a member of Mu Kappa Tau, the Marketing Honors Association, and is an active participant in Reading With The Warhawks. She has also volunteered at the Polar Plunge, Make a Difference Day and as an assistant girls soccer coach at Whitewater High School.

Last week, Krausert was tabbed Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America. She is eligible to garner Academic All-America accolades.

Krausert is majoring in chemistry at UW-Whitewater.

Krausert and the Warhawk women's soccer team head into this week's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament on a 17-match win streak.

The Warhawks, ranked No. 7 in the nation and first in the North Region, host the lowest remaining seed in the WIAC Tournament Thursday at 6 p.m. at Fiskum Field.
