Delafield's Krausert Named Academic All-America at UW-Whitewater

Carina Krausert, a native of Delafield and senior on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team, has been selected to the 2016 Academic All-America? Division III Women's Soccer third team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Krausert, a defender for the Warhawks and graduate of Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School, carries a cumulative 3.83 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and is majoring in marketing and human resource management. She qualified for Academic All-America selection by virtue of garnering first team All-District accolades.

Krausert earned the program's sixth-ever CoSIDA Academic All-America honor and the fifth in the last four years.

Krausert has played an integral role in the success of UW-Whitewater, which enters the third round of the NCAA Division III Championship with a 22-1 record. The Warhawks swept the WIAC regular season and tournament titles and are currently on a 21-match win streak.

A two-time first team All-WIAC honoree, Krausert earned WIAC Defensive Player of the Year accolades. She has started all 23 games and enters Saturday with one goal and two assists while helping the team post a 0.56 goals against average.

Academically, Krausert is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and was recently named the WIAC Women's Soccer Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She is a six-time member of the Dean's List and an Honor student.

Krausert has remained highly involved on campus and in the Whitewater community. She is currently secretary for the Warhawks' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is a Veteran Warhawk, Warhawk Outreach Coordinator, Alumni/Employer Relations Ambassador and member of the Captain's Council for the Warhawk Leadership Academy.

Krausert was a volunteer assistant coach at Whitewater High School for two seasons, and worked three summers as a volunteer coach at Warhawk Summer Camps. She is actively involved as a volunteer with Reading With The Warhawks, the Polar Plunge, UW-Whitewater's Make A Difference Day and TopSoccer, a community based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities. Krausert was recently named TopSoccer's Volunteer of the Year by the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association.

No. 7 UW-Whitewater hosts No. 18 Pomona-Pitzer (Calif.) this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. With a win, the Warhawks host the winner of No. 4 Thomas More (Ky.)/No. 11 Chicago on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the national quarterfinals.
