Connor Markgraf Prepares for Cross Country Championships

Connor Markgraf, a sophomore occupational safety major from Pewaukee, Wis., is preparing with the rest of his UW-Whitewater cross country team for the championship portion of the season.

"We are going ahead with the goal of trying to equal last year's 6th place performance," said Jeff Miller, head coach of the UW-Whitewater men's and women's cross country teams. "The men have only one senior running, so the team has a lot of young runners who are gaining valuable experience this season," he said. Markgraf ran a personal best 27:50 at the Brooks Invitational in October.

The WIAC Conference meet in Cuba City will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27. The NCAA III Midwest regional in Oshkosh on Saturday, Nov. 10, will determine which teams and individuals move on to the national cross country meet in Terra Haute, Ind.
