Brendon Mendoza presents at Posters in the Rotunda event

2014 Mar 20

Brendon Mendoza, a junior general business major from Racine, Wis., presented research at the 11th annual Posters in the Rotunda event on Wednesday, March 12, at the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison.

Nearly 200 outstanding undergraduate student researchers from across the UW System, five hailing from UW-Whitewater, filled the Capitol Rotunda to share their research findings.

"The whole experience of being selected to present in the Rotunda is really rewarding as the whole summer was full of intense research to get my project ready to present," Mendoza said. "I couldn't have done it without the support of my McNair advisers and my project mentors Dr. Russell Kashian and Dr. Richard McGregory."

UW-Whitewater student representatives presented their research to state legislators, state leaders, UW alumni and others in private meetings.

Catherine Chan, director of the undergraduate research program, said that students present their research with the excitement to discover and communicate the importance of experimental learning.

"Through these students and their accomplishments, our legislators and the public have the opportunity to better understand the state of higher education within UW-Whitewater and the UW System," Chan said.
