2017 May 10

Parker Witt, a native of Appleton, WI, graduate of Appleton North High School and junior on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's track and field team, was selected United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III National Athlete of the Week following his performance over the weekend.

Witt, a six-time All-American, swept the 100- and 200-meter dash events over the weekend at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships at UW-Platteville. He tallied a personal best, program record and facility record time of 20.99 seconds in the 200 to improve his top mark in NCAA Division III.

Witt also ranks No. 1 in the nation in the 100 and crossed the finish line in 10.60 seconds in the event to win the race by nearly two-tenths of a second.

Entering the first of two weeks of last chance meets, Witt also ranks among the nation's top 20 in the 4x100-meter relay.

The Warhawks, ranked third in the nation by the USTFCCCA, will compete Friday at the UW-La Crosse Eagle Open starting at 3 p.m.

Witt is majoring in finance at UW-Whitewater.
