Amanda Dick makes UW-Whitewater women's tennis team

2014 Oct 24

Amanda Dick, a senior English major from Kenosha, Wis., has made the 2014-15 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team.

The Warhawks currently have a 9-0 record, and will play in the WIAC championships in Madison, Oct. 25-26.

"We've told new players that we're used to winning conference championships," said Frank Barnes, the team's head coach. "That's the standard here, so we've got to try and win each of our conference matches as decidedly as we can to get better seeds in the conference tournament."

When the players are not on the field, they are giving back to the community. The UW-Whitewater women's tennis team participates in Reading with Warhawks (program where players to read to elementary school children), Polar Plunge for Special Olympics, Make A Difference Day and free training camps for middle school students.
