Allison Lozar appears in "Muskie Love" at UW-Whitewater

2014 Jul 9

"Muskie Love," a musical of two Wisconsin natives who let their rivalry turn into love, comes to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Allison Lozar, a sophomore theatre major, serves as stage manager and props designer.

"Muskie Love" tells the tale of Ben and Bea, who begin their relationship in hatred. Eventually, the two find themselves drawn to each other.

"The play is full of recognizable places and situations presented in an enjoyable and comic way," said Jim Butchart, director of the play. "Students should expect to have an enjoyable, easily accessible night, like watching a good sitcom with the extra treat of music."

American Folklore Theatre in Door County originally produced "Muskie Love." It is loosely based on Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing."

The production opens at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, at Barnett Theatre in the Greenhill Center of the Arts, and runs until Sunday, July 20.
