Alexis Lockett-Glover named to UW-Whitewater Residence Hall Association Executive Board

2014 Oct 24

Alexis Lockett-Glover, a sophomore psychology major from Milwaukee, Wis., has been elected to the executive board of the 2014-15 Residence Hall Association, which oversees 13 residence halls on campus and two apartment buildings that house students.

"Residence Hall Association is a great chance for students to have a voice in their residence halls," said Christina Aichele, adviser. "From planning programs for on-campus residents to funding programs outside of the organization for the benefit on the student body, the Residence Hall Associate provides necessary guidance and leadership to keep UW-Whitewater moving forward."

The group's mission is to bring "leadership and programs to foster community and to provide social, cultural and intellectual development." The board also reviews and enforces housing policies.

In addition to the mission, the Residence Hall Association gives direction to Residence Life on specific issues by providing an overall representation of the UW-Whitewater student body.

"I would hope every resident takes advantage of the programs offered by the Residence Hall Association," Aichele said. "Being a part of this organizations leads to more leadership opportunities, while allowing residents to have a say on what programming occurs within their residence halls."
