Aleda Johnson named Global Ambassador at UW-Whitewater
2017 Mar 8
Aleda Johnson from Milton, Wis., who is studying liberal studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, has been selected to serve as a Global Ambassador.
Global Ambassadors are interns who work in the Center for Global Education office on campus. They assist with airport pick-up, orientation week and serve as a point of contact for new students. During the semester, they check-in with the new students, engage them in special programs like the short-term English Language Program and invite them to monthly cultural activities and trips.
"The Global Ambassadors provide an extra layer of support for our students - they are accessible, they are relatable, and they help integrate students into campus," said Stephanie Martell, international student adviser at UW-Whitewater. "They are invaluable to our mission and the students they serve."
There are approximately 40 exchange students each term who are assigned a Global Ambassador.
