Adam Grassnickle Elected Whitewater Student Government Senator

2012 Nov 26

After lively campaigning, Adam Grassnickle, a junior political science major from Watertown, Wis., has been elected to the Whitewater Student Government (WSG) senate.

After obtaining 25 signatures and being verified by the elections committee, Grassnickle went on the ballot Oct. 30. WSG senators are elected by the UW-Whitewater student body and serve on university committees, hold office hours and help develop student policies. The new group will take office Jan. 28, 2013.

"The new senators have all been involved with WSG before, but these new positions will present the campus with fresh ideas and changes that will benefit the student body and university," said John Jensen, president of WSG.

WSG is responsible for governing the more than 12,000 students who attend UW-Whitewater. Its role is to actively assess and serve the needs of UW-Whitewater students by providing an open forum atmosphere as well as being a bridge between students, student leaders and campus administration.
